A permanent resident of South Africa, Natalie moved there from Washington DC in 2006 to start up Southern and Central Africa for the global nonprofit organization Operation Smile later becoming Vice President, Africa and then Vice President, Global Business Development for them. In 2009/10 she earned her MBA at Saïd Business School at Oxford University where she served as co-Chair of the Africa Business Group, was selected as a Skoll Associate, and focused on Social Entrepreneurship. In late 2013 Natalie left Operation Smile and started an Africa Development Consultancy called ZARUS Group focused on supporting social businesses and nonprofits with their fundraising and/or business development platform, strategic positioning and scaling and expansion across Africa. She also launched a nonprofit called NeedLinkage where skilled individuals and corporate employees who want to give back can provide support to non profits and entrepreneurs in need of expertise. Where Skill Meets Need. Natalie’s clients have included Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative, Greenpeace Africa, The Business Bridge Initiative, Oxfam, Salamanca Group and Save the Children. She recently joined Impact Hub as Africa Lead to support the Africa Seed Program (which is an incubation program for entrepreneurial teams across Africa interested in starting Impact Hubs in their cities) and to develop partnerships across the continent.
